Graphite Pencil on Bristol Board

19 in x 24 in

This project was inspired by a quote from the book "The Little Prince". The quote was "All grown-ups were once children... although few of them remember it". This work is my response to the quote saying I want to be an adult who remembers childhood, and I want to hold on to it.

This project is about my childhood and what I imagined when I was younger. I drew myself the size of a toy playing with them. I used Legos and stuffed animals because I played with them a lot when I was younger.

This work is about my childhood, and how I'm putting my childhood in a box. The objects in this work are books that I read as a child, stuffed animals, and pictures of my younger self.

16 in x 12 in

The theme of this work is that every object has its owner's or maker's memories. Each object I used holds a memory. The chair has someone else's grandmother's memory. The Blanket has my mother's side grandmother's memory, of when she was making that blanket. The brushes in the back have my father's side grandfather's memory when he was making those brushes.

The theme of this project is that everyone has their own, never-ending challenges. In the work, the person's challenge is to make a sound with a flute, and then play music, and then master it. My challenge was to finish this endless dot-making work.
