Hello! My name is Hayeon Jeong. I'm a Fine Arts student at the University of Cincinnati DAAP. I am currently focusing on drawing, painting, and illustration.

From a young age, art has been a way for me to express my thoughts, imagination, and the way I see the world. Creating images has always felt like a natural part of how I think and experience life. My creative practice allows me to explore memories, childhood, the natural cycle of life, and Korean culture through visual storytelling. Working primarily through drawing, painting, and digital illustration, I create playful and imaginative scenes that grow from my everyday thoughts, observations, and experiences.

A central part of my practice is creating original characters and illustrations that bring imagined worlds to life. Characters such as Anthony (Anty) the ant are born from my love of drawing and storytelling, allowing me to create playful personalities and moments of everyday wonder. Rather than focusing on complex concepts or specific messages, my work focuses on simplicity, imagination, and the emotions that can come from familiar and joyful experiences.

I am interested in artists and illustrators who explore imagination, storytelling, and visual expression. However, my ideas come primarily from my own observations, memories, and the way I naturally see the world around me. I view my work as a place of rest — a visual pause where both viewers and I can slow down and enjoy a moment of curiosity and comfort. Through my art, I hope viewers can spend a moment with my illustrations, experience a sense of joy or calm, and continue their day with a refreshed mind.
